Buddylink: Prioritising personal safety for people on the move

I wasn’t going to include any university-related content for my portfolio but I decided to provide some snapshots of my most recent design project for Advanced Interaction Design. This project was submitted in October 2018. There are a few artefacts in this assignment that support my direction into UX research and design.

I have been studying my Master’s of Interaction Design, part-time, at UTS for 1 year. I have a Distinction average across subjects.

The Brief:

Develop the interaction design for a system that supports or improves user experience across the NSW public transport network. This was a group project. I’d be more than happy to detail my personal contribution further in person.

Process included:

  • Conducting thorough user research- desktop research, in-person interviews

  • Affinity mapping, creating user-journey maps, user stories and persona

  • Ideation and designing a potential solution for the problem

  • Developing a prototype of the system (We used Sketch to create a mobile phone app)

  • Create an Experience Blueprint of the final solution that describes and explains the contexts of use and how different elements can work together with the core technology to support or improve user experience

  • Create a design-in-action video (including storyboard and script)

You can view the design-in-action video here. A little reminder this is a university assignment and not Hollywood - Be gentle!! :)
